About Us
rusty frangipani is a farm where skills and dispositions are given the necessary conditions to grow and flourish. These skills and dispositions are necessary for each one of us to create our own futures and realities that benefit us, our loved ones, and the community.

We chose rusty because rust signals being weathered and having stood the test of time; where the elements are embraced and not repelled. We may not be nice and shiny but we are trusty.

As for the frangipani, it just happens to be nelson’s favourite tree that holds fond memories of his childhood. So much so that he bought one for his home when he found space for it.

My journey as a teacher has taken me through the spectrum of education institutions in Singapore, both public and private. i am also privileged to have had my footprint extend beyond the shores of Singapore, collaborating with and learning from many esteemed educators.
This journey has reinforced my view that all learners are capable of successfully developing desired skills. Should success be initially elusive, still we are able to find a way to facilitate learning by focusing on learner-to-content and learner-to-learner interactions. Learning has taken root only if learners are enabled and empowered to create and re-create their future realities rather than echo the history of generations gone.
In a true learners' habitat, where conditions are set aright, life is inevitable; to do otherwise is to dehumanise learners.
